Frequently asked questions
01. How easy are they to set-up?
Each tent only takes about 20-25 minutes to set up on your own (of course having a partner can speed this up). We do provide helpful instructions to speed up the process! Here is a video on how to perform a bell tent setup and take down. We also have written instructions available here.
02. How much space do I need for the tent?
4-meter (13′) bell tents are best set-up on a flat, 18-20 foot diameter space.
5-meter (16’4″) bell tents are best set-up on a flat, 25-30 foot diameter space.
A 6-meter bell tent could use a 30-35 foot diameter for a comfortable set-up.
If you are pitching several tents, then the guy lines can overlap to share some of the space.
03. Can I keep a bell tent up all year?
You sure can, but this will require various levels and types of maintenance depending on the climate your tent will be exposed to.
Snow may require that you install a thicker center pole and remove ice from around your tent. Tropical & humid climates will require extra care (as with everything outdoors) to eliminating standing moisture inside and out of the tent.

Our canvas treated to protect the canvas from mold & mildew, but over time this will wear off and will need retreatment with 303 Fabric Guard.
Make sure to keep grass and other plants cut back from touching the canvas of your tent, as these items create and trap moisture that can cause mold growth.
04. Do you have tips for creating a wood platform?
We have a great article that provides tips for building a canvas tent deck that you can read.
05. What about a wood burning stove?
Our bell tents come with a pre-built stove jack hole on the ceiling. You can cut the hole larger, up to 6″, to accommodate a stove pipe.
You will need to attached stove jack flashing kit to your tent.
We recommend that your stove pipe exit a minimum of 18″ above the canvas ceiling.

06. How well do your tents in changing weather conditions?
Our tents are waterproof. The bell tents can be used in all 4 seasons – through rain, snow and sleet. Each season may require that you take extra maintenance steps.
They can even hold strong in winds over 50 mph. But do exercise caution around trees in high wind, as they can fall into your campsite.

07. Do you offer financing?
We have partnered both Affirm and Klarna to offer financing for purchases made on our website. We also have an option or two for commercial fianancing of our glaming tents.
08. Can I see your tents in person?
Of course. Check out the 3D virtual tour. We can also try to arrange an in person viewing on your property by appointment if we can easily get to you from Portland or San Diego. Or maybe we know of a friendly customer that live near you.
09.Do you offer customizations?
Sorry, at this time we do not offer customizations due to demand and our staffing levels.

01. Will you travel to us for set-up?
We unfortunatly do not offer event services any more. We handed over our event business to Cascadia Glamping. If you are in the Pacific Northwest, please contact them. Otherwise you can email us and we can find a local business that can help you elsewhere in the U.S.A.
02. Will you ship me a rental tent?
Unfortunately this offering is no longer offered by us. But you could buy one of our tents so that you have one for the rest of your life!

04. Can the tents be set-up indoors or on concrete?
Yes, they can – with practice and patience. We have the steps on how to set a bell tent up on concreateor indoors.
05. Should I get insurance for my event?
We would recommend it! Most venues either come with event insurance or they will likely require it.
01. How do I clean the windows on Stella?
We recommend using plastic cleaner, such a Plexus or Meguiar’s and a microfiber cloth so you don’t scratch the windows.
UV rays will oxydize these windows over time, so we recommend use a fly cover when the tent is not in use to reduce exposure to the sun.
02. How should I clean my canvas bell tent?
We recommend using this product Iosso Mold and Mildew & Stain Remover along with a sponge, soft bristle brush and a hose. Never use bleach.

03. How do I remove mold & mildew from my canvas tent?
First, check out this article about removing mold from canvas tents.
1. Dry-scrub the area with a soft bristle brush or sponge.
2. Kill the mold with a mixture of 1-part white vinegar (distilled) to 3-parts water. Spray it on and let it dry.
3. Use Iosso Mold and Mildew & Stain Remover. This is our go-to product. It is gentle on canvas and has historically done the best job. Follow the on-pack instructions. Try spot cleaning with a hot-water mixture in a spray bottle, or create a solution in a bucket and apply with a sponge. Don’t be alarmed if all of the mold hasn’t been removed yet.
4. Let it dry in direct sunlight.
5. Apply another treatment and let dry. You may need to repeat this a third time.
6. Rinse and let dry before storing.

05. Can I let grass and foliage touch the tent?
For a couple days that is fine, but we suggest keeping foliage and wet leaves at least 3 feet from your canvas tent. This stuff easily encourages mildew to grow on canvas.
06. How can I reduce humidity inside of my tent?
Keep windows slightly cracked at all times, run a fan, place DampRid in your bell tent, or run a dehumidifier (for extra credit).

We on the road frequently, but our family lives in Portland, Oregon. Our mailing address is at 525 3rd Street Suite 200 Lake Oswego, OR 97034.

We are typically on the road or working from our home office. But we are happy to meet in person in Portland, OR or San Diego, CA to show you our tents. Just ask for an appointment.

What are those? We are in and out of the warehouse, on the road, or working from home. If we miss your call, feel free to text. We are generally online Monday-Friday during “normal business hours.”

01. Return policy
We offer a 45-day return policy time frame to refund purchases of unused merchandise. Items must be returned in the original package, unused, with all original parts to be refunded full credit. Refunds are credited back to the same credit card used for payment. Returns unfortunately do not qualify for free shipping.
The cost of shipping items back will by the responsibility of the customer. Customers returning products will also be liable for a 15% restocking fee. Please contact us prior to return to receive authorization and the return address.
If merchandise is damaged during delivery to you, we ask you notify Camp inTents immediately so that we can remedy the situation.
Sorry, we do not accept return of used tents.
Order cancellations will require a 3% fee deducted from the order refund to compensate for credit card transaction fees.

02. Warranty
All purchases come with LIFEtime support! We stand behind our craftsmanship! Camp inTent™ branded bell tents carry a limited 30-month warranty against defects in the workmanship and materials when our tents are used for recreational purposes. Any bell tent whose quality is compromised will be repaired or replaced for free, at our discretion.
Warranty return freight requires customer prepayment. The warranty does not cover mold or mildew damage, zippers, fabric holes or damage caused by neglect or accidents. Warranty is not valid if unapproved canvas cleaning or protective chemical products are used, improper cleaning & storage methods used, or aftermarket customizations are made to the tent materials or hardware.
Tents set up for long-term use greater than 21-days at a time do not qualify for the 30-month warranty. Such use does however come with a 12-month warranty. Any bell tent whose quality is compromised will be repaired or replaced for free, at our discretion. Return freight requires customer prepayment. The warranty does not cover mold or mildew damage, or fabric holes or damage caused by neglect or accidents. Warranty is not valid if unapproved canvas cleaning or protective chemical products are used, improper cleaning methods used, or after market customizations are made to the tent materials or hardware. We of course will still provide a lifetime of support after the 1-year period to help solve for any challenges that you may encounter with the tent.
